About Do Yoga Outside

Founded in 2023 by Emily Dresser, Do Yoga Outside began with a deeply personal need for healing and reconnection. After stepping away from a career in public education to prioritize her mental health, Emily found clarity, peace, and joy through one simple shift, taking her yoga practice outside. That quiet, grounding time in nature lit a spark that couldn’t be ignored.

What started as solo movement under the trees quickly grew into a vision: to create inclusive, nature-based yoga experiences that help others reconnect, with their breath, their bodies, their community, and the Earth. Based in Bend, Oregon, Do Yoga Outside offers public classes, private sessions, events, and retreats—all held outdoors in wild, beautiful places.

Emily is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, Wilderness First Responder, Oregon Registered Outfitters Guide, and a former elementary school teacher with a Master's in Education and a background in Human Development. She brings a trauma-aware, heart-forward approach to every gathering, helping students feel safe, seen, and empowered. Her deep love for nature and her passion for creating supportive community spaces are woven into every offering.

Today, Do Yoga Outside is still led by Emily, but it’s no longer a solo journey. With the addition of our first official team member, we’re expanding thoughtfully, keeping our roots in kindness, accessibility, and integrity while continuing to grow the ways we serve and connect with this community.

Let’s share movement, stillness, and moments that matter, one breath, one class, one open sky at a time.

Do Yoga Outside Staff

Emily Dresser

When you show up to a class with Emily, expect to be welcomed exactly as you are. You don’t need to be flexible, experienced, or even confident, you just need come with an open mind and a willingness to connect.

My classes are intentionally slower, grounded in breath and presence. We move mindfully, with plenty of options and encouragement to listen to your own body. You’ll be encouraged to move in ways that feel good in your body and to rest when you need it.

Expect space to feel your feelings, breathe fresh air, and maybe even laugh a little. Expect to be outside, to notice the trees, the sky, the sound of your own breath. Expect to feel supported, seen, and not rushed.

I weave in themes of self-compassion, empowerment, and connection—to yourself, to others, and to the Earth. My classes are trauma-informed, accessible, and centered around creating a space where all bodies and identities feel safe and welcome.

You won’t leave “fixed.” But you might leave feeling more like you.

Hayley Salyers

When you come to a class with Hayley, expect to slow down and feel held—by your breath, your body, and the natural world around you. You don’t need to show up with anything polished or perfect. Just bring yourself, however you are.

Hayley’s classes are rooted in gentleness and presence. Movement is accessible and invitational, guided by breath and a deep sense of care.

Expect time for stillness. Expect to hear the birds, feel the sun, and breathe in something that reminds you you’re alive. Expect space to notice what’s happening inside you, and permission to just be with it.

Hayley teaches from a place of deep compassion, drawing from her lived experience as a mother, a lifelong nature-seeker, and someone who’s used yoga to find her way home again and again. Her classes offer a quiet invitation back to yourself—with honesty, softness, and just enough wild.
